I cut the bridge to improve sound quality, do full bridge and soundpost setup, make sure the pegs and fine tuners work properly and I make sure the bow hair is evenly tensioned for better sound clarity. I do that even for the cheapest instruments.
To be honest, most outfits come with factory strings that don’t hold stable intonation nor create a sound that is pleasant to listen to. Therefore, you can select several string upgrades I can recommend that will help the musician enjoy playing more. Nothing is more frustrating than practicing and not being able to enjoy it because the strings can’t deliver what is necessary. A good set of strings doesn’t have to be expensive, but it will completely transform your experience; and we install them for you free of charge!
